"In Ecuador, as well as in other countries, the government institutions have lost credibility, because of bad management, corruption, inefficiency, lack of resources and other factors.
Besides, in general there is a loss of family values and traditions in society that contribute to create a social problem that ought to be fought. The mission of the government sector is to serve the community but sometimes this goal can not be accomplished possibly because of ignorance, lack of training or support, specially in countries that have a central system of government administration.
There is a lack of cooperation between the civil society and some entities in the public sector, which undermines the foundations of the democratic institutions. The people who are involved in the public sector and the political arena in general, have to act with responsibility, because they must not only fulfill their obligations, for which they were elected, but also they have to do something to change the current situation, because the democratic system is the best government system nowadays. Besides it is a must to be conscious of the environmental problems and to promote sustainable development. Based on the above statements, the people who promote the "Center for Civil Society Studies", are only seeking to make people reflect and try solve the serious problems that affect our country. Hence, we contribute with a limited effort to improve our environment, and the social and political situation for the benefit of our children". |
